Retired NFL quarterback Peyton Manning sent a letter to the staff of the Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., where he is a member, to congratulate them on a successful BMW Championship in 2016, the Indianapolis-based WRTV reported.
“I know you faced some tough conditions over the last month and went above and beyond to make sure Crooked Stick remained in immaculate condition and was a great host for the best players in the world,” the letter read. “Please enjoy some Papa John’s and Budweiser on me tonight.”
It rained off and on throughout the weekend, causing issues for the course, which made it especially impressive to pull a successful event. Despite the weather issues, 124,000 fans came to Carmel to watch the BMW Championship over the weekend, WRTV reported.
