Timothy O’Neill, Certified Golf Course Superintendent at Country Club of Darien (Conn.) is the new President of the Golf Course Superintendents Assocation of America (GCSAA). Sean A. Hoolehan, CGCS at Wildhorse Resort Golf Course, Pendleton, Ore., is the new Vice President, and Ricky D. Heine, CGCS and General Manager at The Golf Club Star Ranch, Austin, Tex., is Secretary/Treasurer. Directors for 2005 are James R. Fitzroy, Director/Superintendent at the Presidents Golf Course, North Quincy, Mass.; Mark D. Kuhns, Director of Grounds at Baltusrol Golf Club, Springfield, N. J.; and Robert Randquist, Director of Golf and Grounds, Boca Rio Golf Club, Boca Raton, Fla.
Seth Strickland, Golf Course Superintendent at Miami Shores Country Club, Miami, Fla., shot a four-under 140 to win the 2005 GCSAA Golf Championship, held at ChampionsGate in Orlando, in conjunction with the Golf Industry Show.
Stuart Leventhal, Golf Course Superintendent at the Interlachen Country Club, Winter Park, Fla., was named 2004 Superintendent of the Year, an award co-sponsored by Club Car, in recognition of his hard work to restore his course after devastation by three hurricanes last summer. Leventhal received a Club Car Carryall 294 all-wheel drive vehicle as part of the award.
