The “General Manager of the Year” award went to Jack Hrad of St. James Plantation, located near Southport, N.C. Hrad was nominated by the facility’s owner for leading his team to revenue improvements and through a challenging period of a major membership overhaul.

Nancy Dickens of The Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Az., was named “Superintendent of the Year.” Dickens earned her course the highest rating ever for resort course conditions. |

The “Associate of the Year” award was presented to Sergio Flores of Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club, located in southwest Utah. |
Sam Logan, Director of Operations of Punta Espada at Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic, received the “W.I.T.S (Walk in Their Shoes)” award for exceeding at promoting the Troon brand and operating philosophy in parts of the world that are unfamiliar with the company’s benefits.

David Buth has been appointed General Manager of Club Operations for RedTail Golf Club at Heathrow Country Estates (32 miles northwest of Orlando). Previously, Buth was responsible for the daily operations at Victoria Hills Golf Club, where he managed a staff of 80. Prior to that assignment, Buth was the Director of Golf Operations for Suntree Country Club, in Melbourne, Fla., and a golf professional for Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando. At the start of his career, Buth worked at the famed Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C. |

Jeff Perry has joined The Crossings at Carlsbad (Calif.) as General Manager. Perry brings more than 12 years of experience in resort and high-end daily-fee management operations to the 18-hole, Greg Nash-designed championship golf course. He most recently served as General Manager at Southern California’s Trilogy Golf Club in La Quinta (four-year host of the PGA Tour’s LG Skins Game). Jeff’s résumé also includes six years as General Manager at Riverwalk Golf Club in San Diego, formerly known as the Stardust Country Club. |

Christopher Packer, a Delaware North Companies chef at The Lodge & Conference Center at Geneva-on-the-Lake (Ohio), recently earned the prestigious Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) distinction from the American Culinary Federation—the third-highest level for cooking professionals, behind only Certified Executive Chef (CEC) and Certified Master Chef (CMC). Packer, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America who has been cooking professionally for over 12 years, has also earned the CIA’s Pro Chef II designation. |

Gary Piotrowski has been appointed General Manager of Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, Calif. Piotrowski brings more than 12 years of experience managing upscale, daily-fee and semi-private clubs, and has also directed the opening of multiple golf facilities. He most recently served as General Manager at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. Prior to that assignment, Piotrowski held the General Manager position for seven years at The Walt Disney Corporation-owned Celebration Golf Club, also located in Orlando. In addition to his status as a Class A member of the PGA, Piotrowski is an active member of the Club Managers Association of America. |
