The two-phase renovation of the Owasso, Okla., facility is expected to be complete by summer 2018. The first phase will include construction of the 20,000-sq. ft. clubhouse, featuring dining outlets with a display kitchen and wood fire oven, banquet spaces, and a fitness center with locker rooms, a spa treatment room, a cardio and free weights area, and an elevated yoga loft.
During the Folds of Honor Patriot Cup on Memorial Day weekend, The Patriot Golf Club announced plans for a $9.5 million expansion to its Owasso, Okla., campus, Tulsa (Okla.) World reported.
The expansion will include new facilities befitting the championship course, including a clubhouse, renovated and expanded golf house and pool complex addition. The expected completion date of the project is summer 2018, the World reported.
Phase one of the expansion will begin this fall and will include construction of the 20,000-sq. ft. clubhouse featuring space for dining, socializing and entertaining. Once completed, members and guests will enjoy premiere dining outlets, banquet spaces and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The dining room will include a display kitchen with a wood fire oven. The spacious fitness center will include men’s and women’s locker rooms, a spa treatment room, a cardio and free weights area and an elevated yoga loft, the World reported.
Events and small gatherings will be welcomed at the clubhouse with a banquet room and smaller private dining areas for meetings and parties. Other clubhouse amenities will include a men’s lounge and member’s lounge offering stunning views of Tulsa, the World reported.
“We initially opened The Patriot with a mission to support the Folds of Honor Foundation, by offering great golf for the greater good. We always intended to grow the facility and amenities as we grew the membership,” said General Manager Holly Neidel. “With an average growth of 15% in new members each year over the past six years, we feel now is the time to expand and truly make this campus a lifestyle club the entire family can enjoy.”
Phase one is scheduled for completion in fall 2017, at which time phase two will begin. Phase two includes the renovation of the current clubhouse into a premier golf house with an expanded golf shop offering views of downtown Tulsa. The golf house will also include a shoe and locker room attendant, a men’s locker room featuring over 300 lockers and lounge spaces, and a women’s locker room with 75 lockers and lounge spaces, the World reported.
Additionally, fall 2017 will see the construction of the pool complex addition featuring a resort-style leisure pool, activity pool, kid’s play shelf with bubbling water features, and a separate lounge pool. Servicing pool guests will be the new pool cabana complete with restroom facilities and a bar with covered lounge areas. For year-round enjoyment, the complex will also include fire pits, the World reported.
The expansion plans were developed by Oklahoma City-based designer Tom Hoch whose firm oversaw the renovation of Tulsa Country Club, the World reported.
“We are very proud of the concept developed and believe it reflects the desires of our membership and takes The Patriot from a traditional golf club to a truly unique and luxurious space with amenities for the entire family,” said Neidel.
The expansion will allow The Patriot to welcome even more guests and members, raising awareness and financial support for the Folds of Honor Foundation housed next to The Patriot. The Foundation offers educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members killed or disabled in service, the World reported.
