The clubhouse was closed in June 2009 when PDCC Developers filed bankruptcy.
The golf course at Palm Desert (Calif.) Country Club is on track for a Jan. 1 opening, one of its new owners said at a recent meeting of the city’s Citizens’ Advisory Committee for Project Area No. 4, reports The Desert Sun.
Moe Sihota, one of the new owners of PDCC, answered questions from the five committee members at the Oct. 17 meeting. Most centered on membership fees and the opening date.
“We purchased the course about 35 days ago and have been working full tilt to get it open on or about Jan. 1,” Sihota said. It was the first time any of the owners, all from Canada, have spoken publicly about the course, which they bought in September.
Escrow closed Sept. 9 on the sale of the 180-acre, 27-hole golf course and clubhouse that closed in June 2009 after former owner PDCC Developers filed bankruptcy. Owners are in the process of hiring administrative staff and reaching out to past members to reengage them. Overseeding the course is scheduled to begin soon.
