The 36-hole property includes the Vineyard and Victoria Lake golf courses, in addition to banquet facilities and the largest driving range in Ventura County. American Golf will also maintain adjacent practice fields that are used annually by the Dallas Cowboys for preseason training camp.
The City of Oxnard, Calif. has selected American Golf Corporation (AGC) to manage its 36-holeRiver Ridge Golf Club and direct operations of both its Vineyard and Victoria Lake Golf Courses.
In addition to maintaining the 36-hole public course, American Golf will manage River Ridge’s banquet facilities and its driving range, the largest in Ventura County. It will also be responsible for the maintenance of the Oxnard golf course’s adjacent practice fields that are currently used by the Dallas Cowboys each year for training camp.
“The City of Oxnard is excited to work with American Golf Corporation at River Ridge Vineyard and Victoria Lakes Golf Courses,” said Oxnard Mayor Tim Flynn. “We believe the company’s track record will elevate the appeal of playing golf in Oxnard and attract new customers in the city and across the state.”
The Oxnard City Council reported that the selection committee “was particularly persuaded by American Golf’s corporate resources and strong marketing plan” for River Ridge. Adding AGC’s Player’s Club benefit, a subscription-based affinity-membership program available at all American Golf operated public courses, was also seen as having the potential to be effective in increasing utilization at the golf courses, as well as creating a stable and consistent income source.
With the addition of the Oxnard courses, AGC will now operate over 50 properties and facilitate more than 3.2 million rounds of golf each year in Californai, solidifying its position as the leading operator of golf courses and golf clubs in the state.
“We’re honored to have been selected by the City of Oxnard to oversee the operations of these two incredible courses,” said Jim Hinckley, CEO of American Golf. “We look forward to working with the city to grow these courses and drive more players to experience all the River Ridge Golf Club has to offer.”
