A new 5,600 sq.-ft. event center and a new exercise facility are now available for use. The event facility will allow for private events such as weddings, corporate events and more. “The space essentially is totally customizable: You can turn it in to whatever you need to,” says Morgan Anzalone, Oshkosh Country Club’s Director of Events. Meanwhile, Oshkosh Core Club is a boutique fitness studio that will offer lagree, a low-impact, high-intensity workout.
A new event center and trendy workout studio aim to prove there’s more than just golf at Oshkosh Country Club in Oshkosh, Wis., Oshkosh Northwestern reported.
The club recently opened a 5,600 sq.-ft. event center that will allow year-round bookings for private events such as weddings, corporate events and more.
Morgan Anzalone, Oshkosh Country Club’s Director of Events, told Oshkosh Northwestern the facility previously only offered a special event tent for outdoor gatherings. That meant staff often had to turn away private events in the winter months.
“Oshkosh Country Club is a premiere event space that offers an elevated experience,” she said. “The space essentially is totally customizable: You can turn it in to whatever you need to.”
The event center is a steel-wood hybrid structure that features a neutral palette and asymmetrical skylight, Oshkosh Northwestern reported. It can accommodate up to 275 people, but smaller spaces can also be created using a partition wall.
In-house catering is also provided through executive chef Michael England, who runs the country club’s TJ’s Highland Steakhouse restaurant, Oshkosh Northwestern reported.
T.J. Rodgers, the California investor, entrepreneur and Oshkosh native, owns the Oshkosh Country Club and told Oshkosh Northwestern he wanted to add another option for events in his hometown.
“We invested in a new event center at OCC to allow people from my hometown to host weddings and other celebrations with first-class, unique cuisine and bar service with stunning views at affordable prices,” he said in a news release.
The event center adds to a plethora of recent options for couples, families and businesses looking to host a gathering in the city, Oshkosh Northwestern reported: Venue 404 held a grand opening in March and The Howard added outdoor event space in July.
But that’s not all that’s happening at Oshkosh Country Club, Anzalone said. There’s also a new exercise facility on the club’s lower level.
Oshkosh Core Club is a boutique fitness studio that will offer lagree, a low-impact, high-intensity workout that has gained popularity on the West Coast, Oshkosh Northwestern reported. The core workout is done on a custom, spring-based machine that combines cardio and resistance training.
Staff is training more instructors in the style, so it’s not quite ready for classes, but the facility also offers yoga classes on Sundays and Wednesdays,Oshkosh Northwestern reported.
Membership to Oshkosh Core Club is separate from Oshkosh Country Club, though country club members have access to all amenities, including the studio.
Anzalone said the studio is one of only a small number of facilities in Wisconsin that offers lagree, and it’s part of an effort to make Oshkosh Country Club more accessible to members and non-members alike, Oshkosh Northwestern reported.
“Some people just don’t know, so I want to work on bringing the community in, especially since T.J. (Rodgers) and (his wife) Valeta are all about just making Oshkosh a better place to be,” she said.
The club also recently redid its tennis and pickleball courts.
Anzalone describes the club as “semi-private,” with perks for members but also public tee times, the steakhouse restaurant, and, now, Oshkosh Core Club.
