The course is being developed by 2020 Acquisitions, who is working with New Jersey golf course architect Stephen Kay. A miniature golf course will be constructed in the beginning of the year and the driving range has been seeded and is expected to be launched around Memorial Day.
Developer Efrem Gerszberg, principal and president of 2020 Acquisitions, told the Old Bridge, N.J. Township Planning Board that the municipal golf course he’s building should be finished sometime next summer, MyCentralJersey.com reported. Gerszberg’s company is also constructing 1.2 million sq. ft. of warehouses on the former Glenwood Country Club.
The last hole to be built is the 8th hole and that’s almost done, Gerszberg told the Board. A miniature golf course will be constructed in the beginning of the year, MyCentralJersey.com reported. The driving range has been seeded and that is expected to be launched around Memorial Day, Gerszberg said.
The township Planning Board gave final approval for the warehouses to be part of the of the Central 9 Logistics Park which will be built in three phases on the former Glenwood Country Club, MyCentralJersey.com reported. The 200-acre parcel is vacant except for the Old Bridge Rifle and Pistol Club’s outdoor range, which will be demolished.
The gun club’s indoor range will remain where it is, MyCentralJersey.com reported. Gerszberg said the gun club is an asset to the community and he is working with the club to find another location better suited for them.
“We’ve been working with the town officials and your elected officials to do that,” he said. At the same time, he said, the gun club has also been working on an alternative location as well.
“The idea is not to get approved and kick them off,” Gerszberg said.
Central 9 Logistics Park is a 4.2 million sq. ft., nine-building industrial development, MyCentralJersey.com reported.
“Central 9 Logistics Park is a cutting-edge development in one of the most desired industrial markets in the country,” said Mindy Lissner of Cushman & Wakefield. “The asset’s centralized location has unrivaled reach to over 100 million consumers and an exceptional labor pool.”
2020 Acquisitions is a national real estate development firm with projects including Class A warehousing, media studio campus, private golf courses, gas stations and residential development, MyCentralJersey.com reported. 2020 is currently developing more than 10 million sq. ft. of class A warehousing.
Gerszberg said last year that he will be spending more than $8 million on the “first class” course designed by New Jersey architect Stephen Kay.
The course layout is unusual because, unlike most American golf courses, the ninth hole will not return to the clubhouse, MyCentralJersey.com reported. Instead, the hole will be at the furthest corner of the property and a halfway house with restrooms is planned by the 11th tee.
The entrance to the course will have a 6,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse and 110 parking spaces are planned, MyCentralJersey.com reported. On that side of the road will be the miniature golf course, a practice putting green and a practice range. The first three holes will also be on that side of the road.
