The legislation cannot move until the hold is lifted.
On June 21, the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee passed H.R. 872 – the bill to negate the need for a Clean Water Act permit for pesticides application in, over or near waters of the U.S. – out of committee on a voice vote. The measure has since been placed on hold by Senators Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), and the legislation cannot move until the hold is lifted.
Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA) public policy staff is now focused on working with affiliated chapters to schedule district office visits where golf course superintendents can tell members of Congress and their staffs why this legislation is so important.
