Canyon Innkeepers Inc. based in Portsmouth, N.H., will take over management of the facility.
US Bank has contracted a private third party company to begin operation of the Newton (N.J.) Country Club as a public course beginning Friday, reports the Newton Daily News.
Canyon Innkeepers Inc. based in Portsmouth, N.H., will take over management of the facility. Rob Greene, Director of Operations for Canyon said that although his company is out-of-state, day to day running of the facility will be a local affair.
The club will retain its current greens-keeper Zach Osterberg and assistant greens-keeper Aaron Hesson. The on-site restaurant will not be open by tee-time Friday, but the management company is currently applying for a liquor license and will be looking for a local company to run the concessions.
No longer a private facility, Greene said the Club will allow the public to pay by the round, although prices are yet to be determined. Golfers will still have the ability to obtain a membership, which will also include access to the pool facility. But patrons will also be able to buy a straight pool membership.
