The 9,000-sq. ft. complex, located on roughly three acres, will include four outdoor pickleball courts and an 18-hole putting course, along with a restaurant with seating for up to 200 people, a patio with fire pits, and a 2,000-sq. ft., full-service golf shop. It will also offer activities including bocce, billiards, ping-pong, shuffleboard and darts, and look to host pickleball leagues and tournaments. “We want The Social Birdy to become people’s default for date night,” says one of its developers.
A new entertainment complex called The Social Birdy that will feature an 18-hole golf putting course, pickleball and other attractions is set to open in Branson, Mo. later in 2022, the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader reported.
This 9,000-sq. ft. venue, located on roughly three acres, will include four outdoor pickleball courts as well as games such as bocce ball, billiards, ping-pong, shuffleboard and darts, the News-Leader reported. It will also include a 2,000-sq. ft., full-service golf shop that will carry name brands such as TaylorMade, Nike and Puma and offer clubfitting services.
There will also be a restaurant operated by the Downing Street Pour House of Hollister, Mo. that can seat up to 200 people, the News-Leader reported. The menu will feature craft beer, bourbon and wood-fired American foods, and there will be a patio with fire pits.
The Social Birdy will look to host multiple pickleball leagues and tournaments, the News-Leader reported. “Pickleball is such a great social sport that brings together people no matter what their skill or background,” said Trey Pelz, founder and partner of the MMTC Development Group that is creating the venue. “It’s just a low-key way to get some exercise and have fun with friends.”
“We want to create a setting where people of all ages can have fun, but also where active adults can leave the kids behind and engage in lively games while pursuing their own hobbies and interests,” Pelz added. “We want The Social Birdy to become people’s default for date night.”
Jonas Arjes, Executive Vice President/Chief Economic Development Officer for the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, said in a news release that The Social Birdy will be a boon for the region, the News-Leader reported.
“It’s a testament to the Branson market when we have another successful developer building such a remarkable new business,” Arjes said. “Offering great family-friendly experiences to both visitors and locals, this project has all the bells and whistles—fun activities, good food and drink, and you can get fitted for your custom golf clubs while you’re at it.”
