The Pittsford, N.Y., club has finalized a one-year agreement with officials to host the championship, which will move from its traditional June date to the week of August 11 to accommodate the 2014 LPGA Tour Schedule. While some logistical details still need to be worked out, tournament officials said the golf course, clubhouse and other facilities are well suited to host the major championship.
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and Wegmans Tournament Officials have finalized a one-year agreement with Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, N.Y., to be the host golf course for the 60th Wegmans LPGA Championship in 2014.
It was also announced that the championship will move from its traditional June date to the week of August 11 in 2014. The date adjustment will accommodate the 2014 LPGA Tour Schedule.
“The LPGA is thrilled and grateful to continue our longstanding partnership with Wegmans, the Rochester region, and the golf fans that have shown us such incredible support and hospitality over so many years,” said LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan. “Together with Wegmans, we are excited to introduce fans in more than 160 countries to Monroe Golf Club while continuing to showcase Rochester as one of the truly best locations for world-class golf venues.
“As this extraordinary major continues, the LPGA would like to extend a very sincere ‘thank you’ to Locust Hill Country Club which served as a challenging venue, a fantastic host, and most importantly, a wonderful friend to our players, staff and fans,” Whan added.
Monroe Golf Club, a top Donald Ross designed golf course, is ranked by Golfweek magazine as one of the top 100 classic golf courses in the United States.

Monroe Golf Club is the 16th golf course to host the Wegmans LPGA Championship dating back to 1955.
