The Delray Beach, Fla. club’s participation in the Play for Pink golf tournament opened with a tennis tournament, the ladies’ golf tournament, for which there were 90 players, followed the next day by the men’s golf tournament, for which there were 80 players. The opening day ladies’ luncheon introduced a three-day silent auction.
Mizner Country Club’s Play for P.I.N.K. Committee announced their recent four-day fundraising campaign had raised $45,000. Proceeds from the Delray Beach, Fla. club’s events go to Play for P.I.N.K. (Prevention, Immediate Diagnosis, Technology, Knowledge), a grassroots women’s organization that raises money for breast cancer research.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our members whose generosity helped make this year’s event such a great success,” said Nancy Marino, Mizner’s Play for P.I.N.K. chairwoman, who also sits on the club’s Foundation Board. “A special thank you goes out to our committee members and sponsors for their tireless efforts in organizing this year’s event here at Mizner.
“It was a fun-packed time gathering friends and sharing a special bond to give to this incredibly worthwhile organization. Each year, more than 30,000 individuals participate in 300 events across 30 states on behalf of Play for P.I.N.K., and 100% of the proceeds from all tournaments and events are donated to their sole beneficiary, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (B.C.R.F.).”
Mizner’s participation in the Play for Pink golf tournament opened with a tennis tournament, the ladies’ golf tournament, for which there were 90 players, followed the next day by the men’s golf tournament, for which there were 80 players. The opening day ladies’ luncheon introduced a three-day silent auction. Featured in the silent auction were hotel and travel items and fine art and gift items donated by local businesses and restaurant establishments.
Marino notes that B.C.R.F. currently supports the work of 275 researchers at leading academic and medical institutions worldwide. “We’re honored that Mizner could play a role in breast cancer research and save the life of even one person in the future,” she said.
Mackenzie Lalov, C.C.M., C.A.M., Mizner Country Club’s Membership & Marketing Director, said, “It is so gratifying to see the outpouring of support our membership has shown for this worthy cause. Our dedicated group of volunteers, led by Nancy Marino, brought our community together to help with breast cancer research. Their efforts truly enforce our motto – ‘We are Mizner.’”
