The expansion of the St. Louis, Mo., property’s West Clubhouse includes adding a bar with indoor and outdoor seating, and renovating the decor in the lobby and main dining room to emulate the look of its Downtown Clubhouse. Construction is slated to be complete by May 1.
The Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo., has begun a $1.25 million expansion and renovation of its West Clubhouse, the St. Louis Business Journal reported.
The project includes adding a bar with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the pool at the West Clubhouse. It also calls for renovating the main lobby and dining room to emulate the decor at the MAC’s historic Downtown Clubhouse. The bar and dining room will be named 1903, for the year the organization was founded, the Business Journal reported.
A survey of members indicated they wanted a space where adults could socialize and entertain clients at the west St. Louis County site similar to such spaces available at the organization’s Downtown Clubhouse, officials said. The project took three years of planning, and construction is slated for completion by May 1, before the pool opens at the Town and Country site this summer, the Business Journal reported.
The MAC’s Downtown Clubhouse, which opened in 1916, underwent a $2.4 million energy-efficiency retrofit last year. The downtown site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Business Journal reported.
