The St. Louis-based consulting firm will assist with recovery from the recent fire at the Sylacauga, Ala. teaching facility, and also help to develop new programming.
After a disastrous fire on March 9 ravaged the primary golf course maintenance building at FarmLinks Golf Club, located at Pursell Farms in Sylacauga, Ala. (about an hour southeast of Birmingham), demolition and cleanup is complete and the planning stages have begun with the rebuilding of the golf course’s Turf Care Center.
A team from McMahon Group, the St. Louis, Mo. consulting firm, has visited FarmLinks to begin the planning stages for creating a new, state-of-the-art Turf Care Center facility that will include consideration of all of the latest turf management practices and concepts. New programming for visitors to FarmLinks will also be developed through the project.
The FarmLinks Golf Club hosts the Experience at FarmLinks, a one-of-a-kind teaching tool that blends three days of rest and relaxation for course superintendents, sports field managers and grounds professionals with innovation and education.
