A new pub and grill, Peppino’s Bistro 72, has opened at Marcellus (N.Y.) Golf Club, while the banquet/wedding facility, which is operated by the same company, is called the Sunset Ridge Room, the Syracuse (N.Y.) Post-Standard reported.
The club was formerly known as the Links at Sunset Ridge (and briefly Sunset Ridge Gold Club). The dining facilities are open to the public. The club does have memberships, the Post-Standard reported.
New owner DJ Van Keuren bought the club from former owners Mark and Karen Clark in 2013. Despite lingering debts and financial issues, Van Keuren decided to reopen this season, the Post-Standard reported.
Peppino’s Bistro 72 has a regular restaurant menu, featuring pizzas, burgers, steaks and pasta, and a ‘Snack Shack’ menu. The bar has 10 draft lines, plus wine, liquor and cocktails, the Post-Standard reported.
There’s a separate catering menu and Sunday brunch (in the Sunset Ridge Room). The brunch menu includes the Risotto Bombs (arancini) that you may have seen at the Peppino’s stand at Taste of Syracuse. Peppino’s Bistro 72 is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday, the Post-Standard reported.
Marcellus Golf Club has an 18-hole course (par is 72, giving the bistro its name). It also serves as home course for Onondaga Community College, the Post-Standard reported.
