A new outdoor event facility at the city-owned Los Robles Greens Golf Course in Thousand Oaks, Calif., is open for business and taking reservations, the Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Acorn reported.
A low-key ribbon-cutting for the Tuscan-style space named The Gardens took place November 7, at 11:30 a.m. at the course. The space is geared toward outdoor weddings and other special events, the Acorn reported.
The Gardens includes an amphitheater with a stage, seating area for more than 250, large lawn area for tents or open-air dining, a bar area and patio for tables or dancing. An auxiliary building houses a bride’s room with interior connection to the women’s restroom, men’s room, catering kitchen, storage and utility rooms, the Acorn reported.
The Los Robles Greens Golf Course is managed under a long-term agreement with Eagle Inc. The new event area is a collaborative project between the City of Thousand Oaks and Eagle. Eagle committed $150,000 toward the cost of construction, which totaled around $1.5 million, the Acorn reported.
The project was paid for with proceeds from the 18-hole course, which earns about $4 million a year in gross revenues, a staff report said. Construction on the facility began in February, the Acorn reported.
Los Robles is accepting reservations for the event area and will provide tours of the facility, the Acorn reported.
