A new pro shop and clubhouse are currently under construction at the Port Aransas, Texas property, which boasts an Arnold Palmer Signature Course and is part of the Pamilla Beach resort development.
Troon Golf has been selected by real estate development firm Koontz McCombs as the new management company for Newport Dunes at Palmilla Beach and its Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Port Aransas, Texas.
“Our goal is to create an extraordinary golf experience at Newport Dunes at Palmilla Beach,” says Bart Koontz, Koontz McCombs’ President and Chief Executive Officer. “We think that Troon is the perfect partner to manage the course, as they bring an unparalleled level of expertise and experience in the golf business. We are thrilled to have them on this project.”
A new pro shop and clubhouse are currently under construction at the course, with expected completion by early fall 2013. The clubhouse will feature both indoor and outdoor dining options for 150 guests. The outdoor patio, will include a full-service bar and views of the Gulf of Mexico and the golf course, as part of a three-story architectural element.
In addition, the Newport Dunes website will soon receive a facelift, with updated options including online tee-time reservations .

Purchased in February 2013 by Koontz McCombs, Newport Dunes is part of the newly-branded Mustang Island destination named Palmilla Beach Resort & Golf Club. The master-planned resort community spans more than 700 acres that occupy beach, bay, golf and marina-front properties, and includes several hundred acres of natural area.
Founded 23 years ago, Troon currently manages nearly 200 facilities in 30 states and 27 countries, including 40 resort destinations.
