Lawrence (Kan.) Country Club has been designated as a 2009 Groundwater Guardian Green Site by the Groundwater Foundation. The club has earned this honor for the second year, under the leadership of Golf Course Superintendent Bill Irving, a Class A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
The program recognizes good stewards of groundwater by encouraging managers of highly managed green spaces to implement, measure, and document their groundwater-friendly practices related to chemical use, water use, pollution prevention, water quality and environmental stewardship.
