Golf legend Jack Nicklaus and his wife Barbara celebrated the grand opening of their Golden Cub Mini Golf course in Jupiter, Fla. on September 5th. This is the first mini golf course designed by Nicklaus Design and named after the Golden Cub character created by Barbara Nicklaus. Golden Cub Mini Golf will donate $1 to the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation for every full-priced round.
Jack Nicklaus has made himself at home at many golf courses over the years. The 18-time Major championship winner, of course, has gone on to be a celebrated golf course designer, among many other things. But the most recent grand opening for the Golden Bear had a special twist to it, reported CBS 12 of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Nicklaus and his wife Barbara officially cut the ribbon at the Golden Cub Mini Golf course in Jupiter on September 5th, the first mini golf course crafted by Nicklaus Design and named after the Golden Cub character created by Barbara Nicklaus, reported CBS 12.
“18 holes, a nice little clubhouse,” describes Nicklaus with a smile. “The landscaping, the sort of white turf bunkers, I mean, it’s really neat, it’s fun. People are going to have a lot of fun playing it.”
“We’re so passionate about our Foundation too,” adds Barbara Nicklaus. “And the bears are part of that, so we’re so thrilled on what they’re doing with the course.”
The theme here is to “putt with a purpose,” as Golden Cub Mini Golf will donate $1 to the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation for every full-priced round, CBS 12 reported.
