IslandWalk at the West Villages by DiVosta, a vacation-style community in Venice, Fla., has broken ground on a second resort-style amenity campus to expand its active resident programming.
The additional amenity campus will offer a second 8,000-sq. ft. clubhouse complete with a new state-of-the-art fitness center and movement studio, card rooms, a breezy outdoor bar, and a resort-style pool with lap lanes and a spa.
IslandWalk is also adding eight more pickleball courts, as residents continue to embrace the game, with drop-in games and tournaments for all levels. An expansive community garden, basketball half-court, dog park, outdoor pavilion for poolside barbeque, and a playground will round out the new amenity campus.
The new amenity center will complement the community’s existing amenities, including IslandWalk’s Resort Center, with an expansive resort-style pool, separate three-lane lap pool, fire pit, eight tennis courts, six bocce ball courts, four pickleball courts, event lawn, two grand clubhouses totaling 25,000 square feet, catering kitchens, a fitness center and movement studio.
IslandWalk’s full-time Lifestyle Director plans community events all season long, coordinating more than 70 activities a week that cater to residents’ interests and desires. Groups have been created for interests ranging from kayaking to book lovers and movie buffs, as well as ballroom and line-dancing classes. From pinochle to poker, residents can also partake in a full array of game groups. Creative types also congregate for “Sew and Tell,” arts and crafts open studio, and photo club.
Along with ladies lunches, trivia nights, a dance party and a chef-led interactive dinner, a summer of entertainment at IslandWalk includes performances by blues, soul and funk band Kettle of Fish, entertainer Marcy Downey, and comedian Mack Dryden.
Designed for an active lifestyle in a natural environment, IslandWalk features picturesque Venetian-style bridges, more than 1,000 feet of boardwalk, a lakeside gazebo, miles of sidewalks and a large multiuse path winding throughout the communities’ estuaries.
“Already 75% built out, we fast-tracked another resort-style amenity campus for early 2020 to accommodate even more of IslandWalk’s popular activities and offerings,” said Richard McCormick, President of PulteGroup’s Southwest Florida Division. “Our homebuyers responded to the community’s combination of quality homes paired with vacation-style living and upscale amenities that foster an easy camaraderie among residents.”
