Inverness Country Club, Birmingham, Ala., has been selected by Golf Inc. Magazine as the 2010 FIRST PLACE winner in the New Clubhouse of the Year Competition (see “A Hot Property Once Again,” C&RB, August 2009)
“We have always believed that our new clubhouse was special,” said Bill Ochsenhirt and Jon Kimerling, owners of Inverness Country Club. “We had a clear vision of wanting a clubhouse that was both functional for our members and casually elegant in its décor. Our members and their guests told us we hit a homerun when the clubhouse opened but it is gratifying to now get recognition from the architectural and golf community worldwide.”
Inverness’s 24,000 sq. ft.-clubhouse, designed by Baltimore-based Chambers Architectural Associates and built by Rives Construction, features the finest quality of woodwork, finishes, and furnishings purchased from around the world. The clubhouse includes three dining areas, two outdoor terraces, private wine lockers, a child care area, private dining and meeting rooms, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and a 4,000-sq. ft. state-of-the-art fitness facility with the latest in cardio equipment, group exercise classes, and a private Pilates studio.
