The upscale public property, with a championship course designed by Johnny Miller and Fredrick Bliss, increases the number of Orlando-area facilities owned or managed by Integrity to 19.
Integrity Golf Company has added Harmony Golf Preserve in Harmony, Fla. to its portfolio.
The addition of the upscale public golf course increases the total number of properties in the Orlando, Fla. area that are owned or managed by Integrity Golf to 19. Based in Winter Garden, Fla., Integrity Golf now operates 26 golf facilities, with the equivalent of 30-plus 18-hole golf courses, in Florida, Tennessee, New York, South Carolina and North Carolina.
Harmony Golf Preserve, a par-72, 7,417-yard championship course designed by Johnny Miller and Fredrick Bliss, encompasses practice facilities, an 18,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse and Graze, a full-service restaurant/banquet facility. The course, which opened in November 2002, hosted the 2007 Hooters Tour Michelob Ultra Classic. It is set on a 260-acre wildlife preserve and is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
The golf course is part of the master-planned Town of Harmony. Located about 30 minutes from Disney World and Orlando International Airport, Harmony is an 11,000-acre, low-density sustainable community being developed by Starwood Land Ventures LLC, an affiliate of Greenwich, Conn.-based Starwood Capital Group. It is currently home to approximately 1,250 multi-generational residents and features its own school, town center, fire station, 12.5-mile network of natural trails and paths and a 500-acre lake and boardwalk made of recycled materials.
The opportunity to manage the operations at Harmony Golf Preserve is a natural fit for Integrity Golf’s growing Florida footprint, said the management firm’s CEO, Gene Garrote. Integrity Golf also has an existing relationship with Starwood Land Ventures, having previously partnered on a long-term lease for RedTail Golf Club, an upscale 480-acre private residential golf development in Sorrento, Fla.
“We’re excited to be part of such a highly regarded residential golf course community in Harmony,” added Garrote. “We have experience with numerous other master-planned communities [that are] accustomed to high-quality standards, and we’re dedicated to providing Harmony’s residents and guests with a continued high-caliber lifestyle and rich calendar of programming, events and activities.”
As the official partner of the First Tee of Central Florida, Integrity Golf is committed to growing Harmony’s junior golf and player development programs, Garrote added.
