After a far-reaching renovation plan that has touched all areas of the resort, Innisbrook (Fla.) Resort and Golf Club has signaled the project’s completion with the opening of its new Indaba Spa. The 20,000-sq. ft. spa and fitness center represents the crowning centerpiece in an impressive list of renovations totaling over $26 million.
The name “Indaba” is Zulu for “gathering place,” and the concept behind the new facility is to provide a place where mind and body can meet. Innisbrook retained WTS International of Rockville, Md., as spa consultants, to help develop the concept and create complementary programming.

Indaba’s 12 treatment rooms feature soothing tones and private outdoor terraces. The spa also includes a couple’s treatment room with fireplace and private shower, outdoor courtyard and meditation labyrinth, separate men’s and ladies steam rooms and lounges, full-service hair and nail salon, and a line of spa services that include personalized massage treatments, scrubs and wraps.
Spa packages have also been designed especially for the golfer, couples, mothers-to-be and “just for the girls” escapes. Already, some of the most popular treatments include “Ice Cream Social” manicures and pedicures, which include an exfoliating scrub and wrap in a variety of flavors like chocolate, caramel and marshmallow.
Indaba also includes a new fitness facility with separate Pilates and spinning studios.
