The “Deirdre Kline Memorial Art Show & Sale” included almost 200 pieces of the late Boynton Beach, Fla. resident’s artwork and raised $5000 for the Pap Corps, benefitting the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Kline, a prolific abstract artist, passed in 2021 from pancreatic cancer.
The Hunters Run Country Club’s Pap Corps Chapter combined the beauty of classic and exotic cars with the award-winning art of late Boynton Beach, Fla. resident and artist Deirdre Kline to raise $5000 for cancer research. Named the “Deirdre Kline Memorial Art Show & Sale,” it included almost 200 pieces of Deirdre’s repertoire from still life, landscape, portraits, nudes, and abstract and expressionistic subjects ranging in size and cost.
The event took place Jan. 15 at Hagerty’s Garage in Delray Beach, Fla. One hundred percent of the proceeds went to Pap Corps, benefitting the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Deirdre Kline was a prolific abstract artist whose work encompassed various media and styles. A resident of Hunters Run Country Club, she passed in 2021 from pancreatic cancer.
“Deirdre left a huge gap in the art world, as well as hundreds of unsold pieces,” Her husband, Paul Kline, said. She felt strongly about Pap Corps and their great work in helping fight cancer, so I felt it fitting to honor her memory by donating her artwork to support this important cause.”
The Pap Corps, Champions for Cancer Research, is one of the largest all-volunteer fundraising organizations in South Florida. More than 50 chapters and 20,000 members are dedicated to supporting research for all types of cancer at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only academic hospital in our community. Sylvester recently earned the prestigious National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation, making it one of the top 4% of cancer centers in the nation and the only one in South Florida.
“We are thrilled and honored to receive such a precious gift from the Kline family and hope to attain our goal of a successful 2023 fundraiser to benefit The Pap Corps,” said Judi Gleicher, President of the Hunters Run Chapter of The Pap Corps.
“Deirdre and I met at Hunters Run in 2018 and quickly bonded over the fact that we were among the few in Hunters Run that had no interest in golf,” said Randi Senderowitz, Art Show event coordinator, and close friend. “I was thrilled to see the overwhelming support from our community for the event on so many levels. It brought together over 500 people, including family members from around the country, friends, and community residents, to memorialize an incredible person and talented artist. Art + Cars on Congress fulfilled Deirdre’s wishes of donating her art.”
