Bryan Danehy, General Manager of the Country Club of York (CCY), discussed the club’s extensive renovations, including a $4 million pool complex and $2 million clubhouse upgrades. The pool, built in 1958, was leaking 13,000 gallons of water daily. The project, costing over $6 million, included a ballroom renovation, new lounge, and comprehensive pool facilities.

Danehy highlighted the positive member feedback and the strategic planning process that began 10 years ago. He also addressed challenges in communication and construction, emphasizing the importance of regular updates and member engagement.

Future plans include year-round programming, potential golf simulators, and continued community involvement.

In other news … During the renovation at Quintero Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz., crews will rebuild all 18 green complexes and resurface them with 007XL Bent grass. All tee boxes will be laser-leveled and resurfaced with a new 419 Bermuda grass. All 65 bunkers will be renovated, as well.

The Toro Company released its 2024 Sustainability Impact Report. The report highlights progress in innovation, efficiency, and workforce development, showcasing advancements in clean technology, waste reduction, and global partnerships to drive lasting environmental and social impact.

And BallenIsles Country Club members complete a 1-in-17 million feat! Lori Garon and Lisa Hoberman each aced the 97-yard, par-3, second hole while playing in the same group. Longtime BallenIsles Country Club maintenance crew associate, Estequer Renoit, who had set the hole location earlier that morning, witnessed both of the holes-in-one.
