The number of carts that a golf course should have in its fleet depends on walkability, member culture and the proportion of members who use a cart instead of walking the course.

This depends on a few factors such as the walkability of your course, i.e., is the course layout easy to walk with short distances from green to tee?
Other considerations include your member culture and their preferences such as the percentage of members who use a cart vs. walking. The operator should also factor in other offerings such as push carts and/or autonomous carts.
Lastly, the amount of golf rounds and tournaments your course is doing per year plays a major role in the number of carts needed. Cattail Creek Country Club hosts approximately 25,000 rounds per year with over 20 member tournaments and outings. Our fleet is comprised of 57 golf carts, four autonomous carts, and 15 push carts.
