The multi-year renovation and expansion will touch on nearly all parts of the 7,000-acre property by its completion in early 2019. Recently completed elements include remodeling of the Palm Villas suites, an upgrade of The Ladybird dining yacht, the new Slick Rock clubhouse, Palm Pavilion event center, and Paseo fitness center.
The 7,000-acre Horseshoe Bay (Texas) Resort is in the middle of a multi-year $60 million renovation and expansion project that will leave almost no part of the property untouched when completed in early 2019, the Austin (Texas) American-Statesman reported.
The first phase of work, which included top-to-bottom remodeling of the resort’s 100 one-, two- and three-bedroom Palm Villas suites, giving them what’s described as a “home away from home feel,” has just wrapped up. The Ladybird dining yacht, known for its popular sunset dinner cruises, was upgraded as part of the project’s first phase as well, the American-Statesman reported.
There are also a number of newly completed additions, such as the Slick Rock clubhouse, Palm Pavilion, Paseo fitness center, Marina Del Bay movement studio, tennis courts and entry signage. The 9,600-sq. ft. Palm Pavilion, which can accommodate up to 600 guests, is fully enclosed, with heating and air conditioning, the American-Statesman reported.
The response has been positive, said Bryan Woodward, chief sales and marketing officer for Horseshoe Bay Resort, which is managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts. “Feedback from resort guests and members on our improvements thus far has been outstanding,” he said.
The Whitewater 360 Sports Club is the most recent addition, debuting this month. It offers visitors 360-degree views of sporting events thanks to 16 large flat-screen TVs scattered above the bar, plus 360-degree views of the adjacent Whitewater putting course, the American-Statesman reported.
The next phase of the $60 million project, which is already in progress, involves a remodel of all 249 rooms in the resort’s guest tower. Many of the rooms are already done, with the rest set to follow suit by spring. Each guest room is set to get new furniture, flooring, wall coverings and linens, as well as a flat-screen TV, the American-Statesman reported.
About 25,000 sq. ft. of meeting space in the guest tower will get a similar treatment. Other elements included in the second phase, which will be rolled out during 2018 and 2019, are a new waterfront bar and grill, kids club, marina slips, yacht club pool bar and bayside spa, plus upgrades to the Summit Rock clubhouse and Caprock Falls members clubhouse, pro shop and pavilion, the American-Statesman reported.
The Ram Rock and Apple Rock golf courses will follow in the footsteps of the Slick Rock golf course, which has already been updated by the famed Robert Trent Jones II golf course design team, the American-Statesman reported.
Lastly, the on-site jet center—a fully functional airport capable of landing a variety of aircraft, including ones as large as Boeing 737s—will get a new entrance and upgraded lobby for arrivals and departures, the American-Statesman reported.
“We are looking forward to continuing to enhance the guest experience with the opening of the 360 Sports Club, in addition to full renovations to the hotel tower, meetings facilities, Ram Rock golf course and more,” Woodward said.
