The Lincoln, Neb. club held a closing pool party for its members to bid farewell to the pool that was originally installed in 1932. A full renovation to Hillcrest’s “backyard” will now begin that will include a new pool with a slide, diving boards and a “splash-free zone,” in addition to basketball hoops and other “fun things.” The project is targeted for completion by Memorial Day weekend of 2020.
The pool originally installed in 1932 at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln, Neb. was celebrated one last time on Sunday, August 11, as the club held a closing pool party for its members, KOLN of Lincoln reported.
In just a few weeks, KOLN reported, renovations to Hillcrest’s “backyard” will begin that will include tearing out the 87-year-old pool construction and installing a new, modern pool as part of a new complex that will also include a slide, diving boards, and a “splash-free zone.”
General Manager Zach Tyson told KOLN that the project will also include installing “basketball hoops and all of the fun things we need.”
“We’re actually expanding our backyard area to accommodate more games and recreational space,” Tyson said..
Hillcrest expects to have the new space open and ready for members by Memorial Day weekend 2020, Tyson said.
