Officials with the High Point (N.C.) Country Club are reviewing options for the club’s future, which could include a sale to a group of local businessmen.
In an article in The Business Journal of the Greater Triad Area, Brian Bunch, president of the High Point Country Club, said the club sent a letter to its roughly 700 members last week updating them on what he called an ongoing review of options going forward.
The letter said options included a $6,000 fee to members or a possible sale to a group of High Point business leaders. In the article, Bunch declined to identify the group.
“We are financially solid. We are doing all the things a prudent business would do,” he said. “We are evaluating what position we should have in the community, whether our pricing model is correct, everything is on the table.
“We’re a unique business model where our owners are also our customers,” he said. “Every customer demands a say. … We want the best approach to ensure we maintain a presence in the community. If we’re recruiting new businesses to High Point, we think we should be a maintain and one marketing tool for that economic development.”
