The historic Evansville, Ind., property will open the club to the public and add a restaurant called Toast, which will serve breakfast, lunch, and alcohol, with a soft opening planned for February.
Built in the mid 1920’s, Helfrich Hills Golf Course may be the oldest course in Evansville, Ind. Now, the historic links may get a shot of new life, the Henderson (Ky.) WEHT/WTVW reported.
Lauer Power LLC, which handles concessions for Swonders Ice Arena and Hartke Pool, wants to renovate at the golf club. The bold redesign includes opening the club to the public and starting a restaurant called “Toast,” which would serve breakfast, lunch, and alcohol, WEHT/WTVW reported.
CEO Kassy Lauer sees Helfrich Hills’ future as more than golf, but a place for the community, WEHT/WTVW reported.
“We’ll have a three-way liquor license,” said Lauer. “People can come in and sip a Mimosa or Mojito, enjoy our gourmet breakfast, see the beautiful view, and take part in this community project that I think is going to be an awesome success.”
The club will feature live local music, food, and night life, WEHT/WTVW reported.
Lauer hasn’t revealed the renovation’s price tag but says it’s not small. A soft opening is planned for the end of February, WEHT/WTVW reported.
