The master-planned resort community is planning to open the 18-hole golf course by summer 2019. The property is also constructing a 14,000-sq. ft. clubhouse and grill on the banks of Lake Ray Hubbard, a swimming pool, children’s park, tennis courts, and a fitness center.
Heath (Texas) Golf & Yacht Club, a $700 million master-planned resort community featuring 1,200 home sites, officially announced the groundbreaking of its 18-hole championship golf course on January 22.
Grassing of the course will begin in August, and a summer 2019 opening is planned.
In addition to the golf course, a lakeside 14,000-sq. ft. clubhouse and grill, swimming pool, children’s park, tennis courts, and fitness center are currently under construction and will be prime amenities for the burgeoning community.
Designed by renowned Austin-based golf course architect Roy Bechtol, who also master planned the community, the course will be one of just two built since 2010 in the Dallas area.
“This course was thoughtfully planned and will greatly increase the property values for our homeowners,” said developer Rob Whittle. “Unlike most golf course communities, golfers will not see the homes along the fairways. This is very appealing to golfers and residents alike. The idea was to make it look like it’s been here for a long time.”
The fairways at Heath G&YC will highlight the babbling creeks, ponds, woodlands, and views of Lake Ray Hubbard. The par-72 course is set on more than 200 acres and is a blend of a links and parkland design, offering wide corridors and a pastoral setting. The core of the course is six holes wide.
“The routing for Heath Golf & Yacht Club is very walkable and will have five tee boxes on each hole to offer a great golf experience and challenge for all levels of golfers,” Bechtol said. “It’s playable for juniors and less-experienced golfers but testing for the low-handicap players and professionals. Located in a wildlife corridor, the course has been designed to be fun and beautiful.”
Miles of walking trails extend from the neighborhood’s entrance to the shores of the Lake Ray Hubbard, where residents enjoy boating, fishing and swimming.
