Harrison Johnson’s goal is to raise $100,000 for the Pacific Historic Parks, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, stewards of Pearl Harbor Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is being supported in his effort by The Hasentree Club in Wake Forest, N.C., where he and his family are members. The club is contributing $1 to the cause for every frozen red, white and blue rocket pop sold this summer. “We should never forget the American heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice,” Harrison says.
In third grade, Harrison Johnson’s history project led him to learn about Pearl Harbor and inspired him to ultimately visit Pearl Harbor National Memorial, home of the USS Arizona. Upon his return home, Harrison, now 9 years old, has announced his effort to raise $100,000 to support the continued remembrance of this important and tragic date in U.S. history.
Harrison and his family are members at The Hasentree Club in Wake Forest, N.C. On Memorial Day, the club hosted a cookout and Johnson manned a booth to share more information about his efforts with Harrison’s Heroes.
“I am on a mission to raise $100,000 to support the continued remembrance of the attack on Pearl Harbor,” Johnson said. “We should never forget the American heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice.”
All contributions to Harrison’s campaign will go to the Pacific Historic Parks, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, stewards of Pearl Harbor Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii. Pacific Historic Parks is the non-profit cooperating association of the National Park Service in stewardship of Pearl Harbor. Its mission is to remember, honor and understand World War II in the Pacific.
To date, Harrison has raised $6,600 toward this $100,000 goal. Donations can also be made directly on his website, https://www.pacifichistoricparks.org/harrisonsheroes. The Hasentree Club is contributing $1 for every frozen red, white and blue rocket pop sold this summer.
