Construction will begin soon for the new clubhouse at the Harlingen Country Club, located in South Texas just past the outskirts of Harlingen in the small town of Palm Valley, Tex. Crews are expected to break ground on the new hacienda-style clubhouse later this summer.
The new building, which will replace the old clubhouse, will cost $7 million and should be completed by the fall of 2010. It will have a larger banquet hall, a state-of-the-art swimming pool, and a remodeled fitness facility.
“It is not just for our members, it’s an asset for the whole community and will help Harlingen grow into the future and [contribute to the] development of the city we all hope it will become,” General Manager Tom Bloemendaal told the local news affiliate, KGBT 4.
