Hampton Hills Golf and Country Club in Westhampton Beach, Long Island, N.Y., isn’t just about golf anymore, the Long Island Business News (LIBN) reported, after adding tennis this summer in the form of two DecoTurf cushioned tennis courts.
A playground was also added as part of the latest improvements at the club, which is located on the east end of Long Island in the middle of a 2,000-acre pine and oak tree preserve, about 90 minutes from New York City, LIBN reported.
DecoTurf is a hard-court surface that is used in the Olympic Games and the U.S. Open tennis tournament, LIBN reported.
The club also includes a clubhouse and patio, in addition to its par-71 golf course that was designed in 1965 by Francis J. Duane and has attracted celebrity golfers over the years including Tommy Hilfiger, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Russell Simmons, Kelsey Grammer, and professional athletes on New York professional teams, including Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, John Starks, and Nick Mangold.
Jack McGown has been the club’s Director of Golf for the past 28 seasons and Patricia Baxter-Johnson has been its teaching professional for the past six years.
