In the course of three months, the Naples, Fla., property converted existing space into a grille, pub, social space, fitness center, and full-service kitchen serving the outdoor bar and social terrace. Designed by Tom Hoch, the renovation also included an open-air structure with screening installed above the second floor outdoor terrace.
A full renovation and transformation of the clubhouse at Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club in Naples, Fla., has been completed.
The work was completed in just three months. A snack bar for 40 diners on the second floor, kitchen and exercise room were converted into a grille, pub and lounge with views of the resort pool. The new dining and social space—which seats up to 120—was created using efficient space planning and no extra square footage.
“[Designer] Tom Hoch took the existing space in what was a ‘sports’ clubhouse and reinvented it as an exciting full service experience for our members and guests,” said Chris Major, General Manager at Hammock Bay. “The firm’s design-build capabilities allowed for the fast-tracking of the remodel, minimizing overall impact.”
A new open-air structure with screening was installed above the second floor outdoor terrace, along with an outdoor bar serving up to 300 patrons. Additionally, the main level offers a new fitness center, and full-service kitchen serving the new outdoor bar and social terrace.
“The objective at Hammock Bay was to create an energetic and fun resort-private clubhouse with no wasted or under-utilized space,” said Tom Hoch. “Many golf courses—whether public, private or resort—have more than enough space to meet the future needs of their customers. Hammock Bay is a perfect example, and we look forward to impacting the club’s top and bottom lines.”
An amenity of the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Hammock Bay has a par 72, 7,080-yard course designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy. The layout is lined with live oaks, marked by rolling dunes up to 30 feet high and 200 feet long. Fairways are wide and framed by native trees, flowers and waste areas filled with crushed shells. Paspalum turf grass provides a year-round playing surface.
