The Haig Point community on Daufuskie Island, S.C., recently unveiled its new beach club to high praise from its members and other island residents. The 4,500-sq. ft. facility, known as the Calibogue Club, seats 77 comfortably with a rotating daily menu. The club offers two levels of dining, along with outdoor seating and an attractive bar with views of Hilton Head’s Harbor Town.
Built in a traditional craftsman-style, the Calibogue Club is reminiscent of estates that are often found along the East Coast, particularly in the Hamptons. The club menu changes daily and offers an innovative combination of fresh seafood, salads and hors d’oeuvres. Signature items from Chef Chip Pridgen include pepper-crusted salmon, Smith Island crab cakes, and Cape Fear shrimp and grits.
