The Angel Camp, Calif., property and The First Tee of San Joaquin are set to kick off the spring tour on March 21. The year’s first multi-week session will welcome kids ages 7-17 to benefit from golf-oriented educational programs.
Greenhorn Creek Resort, Angel Camp, Calif., has developed a partnership with The First Tee of San Joaquin, and is set to kick off its Spring Tour beginning March 21, 2015.
During the year’s first multi-week session, young people, ages 7-17, will benefit from educational programs geared to build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
“The First Tee of San Joaquin is excited to bring our program to Greenhorn Creek Resort and introduce golf to young people in the Calaveras area,” says Don Miller, the organization’s Executive Director. “This is our newest location outside of Stockton and Lodi and we’re excited about our partnership with Greenhorn Creek and the many local residents who will volunteer to make it a success.”
All nine weekly sessions will occur each Saturday, from 10 am to 11 am, at the “PGA learning area” located on the opposite end of the driving range near the Caddy Shack. Under the leadership of Chris Borrego, Greenhorn Creek Resort’s Golf Academy PGA Professional, the program’s curriculum will focus on life skills including: how to manage emotions; how to set goals; how to resolve conflicts; and how to communicate with others.
Assisting in the sessions will be PGA Assistant Professional Jim Dillashaw and PGA Head Professional Allan Ramorini. The cost per student to participate in the entire nine-week session is $60.
