John Deere Golf and Bayer Environmental Science are now accepting nominations for Green Start Academy, a two-day educational and networking program that offers assistant superintendents an opportunity to advance their careers by learning best practices, meeting industry experts and collaborating with peers from across North America.
Once nominated by his or her superintendent, an assistant superintendent is eligible to apply by submitting an essay. Only 50 assistants will be selected to attend this exclusive event.
“Throughout this program, assistant superintendents are awarded the opportunity to experience professional development in all areas of golf course maintenance, including equipment, irrigation and chemical management education,” said Gregg Breningmeyer, Group Director of Sales and Marketing, John Deere Golf.
Essays will be judged by a panel of industry experts including Shawn Emerson of Desert Mountain Golf Club (Scottsdale, Ariz.); Bob Farren of Pinehurst (N.C.) Country Club; Ken Mangum of Atlanta (Ga.) Athletic Club; Dean Miller of PGA West and La Quinta (Calif.) Resorts; and Bruce Williams of Los Angeles (Calif.) Country Club.
