Greek Peak Mountain Resort, Cortland, N.Y. announced that it will soon complete work on an adventure center that’s part of a $20 million expansion, reports the Syracuses The Post-Standard. The center, which will open on June 1, includes a ropes course, zip lines, a mountain biking park, alpine coaster and tubing center.
Greek Peak is also building a 400-guest conference center, which is expected to open in September, and a new quad ski lift. The $20 million project will create 40 to 50 full-time jobs, President Al Kryger said.
“It’s a unique site with a lot of opportunities,” he said. “I’m pretty excited about keeping the expansion going and moving it forward.”
Funding for the expansion was secured through loans with the Tennessee Commerce Bank and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s rural development department.
In December 2009, Greek Peak opened the Hope Lake Lodge and Conference Center, with an indoor water park. The $48.6 million hotel-condo complex features a spa, 41,000-square-foot indoor water park, restaurant and lounge.
