Gratitude gets tossed around a lot this time of year, but in clubs, it carries a different weight. You don’t ease up for the holidays. You surge. While most people settle into celebrations, you’re leading teams, covering shifts, juggling expectations, and making the season feel smooth for your members and their guests.
Your teams are in motion long before the first member walks in and long after the last one heads home. Culinary is juggling banquets, holiday menus, and the steady stream of customizations and special requests. Golf and racquets are managing full tee sheets, court reservations, and whatever the weather throws at them. Membership and Operations are handling the emails, the walk-ins, the schedule shifts, the families, and the events that stack up fast this time of year. Grounds, housekeeping, engineering—every department is carrying its share so members feel cared for without ever seeing the work.
I’m grateful for that work. For the pride you bring to the long days. For the care you put into your members and your pers. For the way you make the holidays happen, the same way you make everyday club life happen.
You carry a lot, and you carry it well.
Thank you for doing what you do, and for letting us tell your stories.
