After a greens enhancement program, Grand Lake Golf Club, Montgomery, Tex. has reopened for play.
“We are excited to open all 18 holes and are positive that area golfers will appreciate the new green surfaces,” stated Cody Spivey, the club’s General Manager. “The turf we used for the greens conversion is actually a third-generation Bermuda that can offer improved putting speeds and consistency.
“This strain of turf has proved itself to be a superior Bermuda putting surface and is more hearty then the prior grasses that were used,” Spivey added. “In fact, this turf will grow even better in heat and humidity, and will provide for more consistent conditions year-round.”
Grand Lake Golf Club features a 7,165-yard, par-72 layout that originally opened in 2003. Located just outside Houston, Grand Lake Golf Club is managed by Scottsdale-based OB Sports Golf Management.
