The RGV Tour 2.0 has passed the 300th course milestone, with Patrick Koenig completing this feat last weekend at The Seawane Club in Hewlett Harbor on Long Island, N.Y.
Koenig is traversing the country in a fully outfitted recreational vehicle, playing 18 or 36 holes of golf daily in his quest to set the world record, while simultaneously raising funds for First Tee of Greater Seattle. His personal goal is to play 500 different courses over the span of 365 days. The current record is 449 courses. This effort is sponsored by Golf Game Book, a digital scorecard and social golf app where Koenig records all rounds and uploads exclusive social content.
Koenig—a talented photographer and blogger—is playing an array of courses; from municipal to revered private country clubs, as he visually showcases the quality and diversity of golf in America.

He quit his day job in 2018 to pursue his dream to play golf and capture amazing people, places, and moments. His photographs have been featured in national publications and many other media outlets. He calls his RV, “the greatest recreational vehicle that has ever existed.” The sleek black and green design allows the RGV to glide easily from course to course. The golf library has been updated and the rooftop range is spectacular.
Heading north from New York up to Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Vermont in the coming weeks, Koenig observed, “From Van Courtlandt to Shinnecock Hills, the RGV Tour prides itself on playing every aspect of the American golf landscape. Van Courtlandt is the oldest public golf course in America, the green fee is just $33, and the commute is just a short train ride from Manhattan. What more could an urban golfer ask for?”
This year-long trek is no small feat, as the routing, planning, scheduling, and driving can take a physical toll. Koenig’s regimen of stretching and healthy eating is supported by Stewart Golf, a remote-controlled golf trolley, as well as ECCO Shoes and apparel provider, RSVLTS, which is keeping the RGV Tour 2.0 stylish with its Breakfast Balls line of golf clothing.
Koenig emphasized, “One of the best parts about the RGV Tour is that we are raising money for First Tee. Through the game of golf, First Tee enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. We can make a difference in their lives.”

During this epic adventure, he is leveraging support from fellow golfers to give back and raise funds for First Tee programs. Often, playing 36 holes a day, Koenig admits he needs a bit of support. As part of his quest, he’s gone to extreme lengths to make sure as many golfers as possible may be part of his world record attempt by hosting events or adding playing partners.
