Glen Oak Country Club in Glen Ellyn, Ill., recently completed a club-wide renovation just in time for summer, the Chicago-based Midwest Real Estate News reported.
Established in 1911, the private club recently initiated a master plan to update their decades-old facilities with the goal of enhancing member experience. Glen Oak’s existing swimming space, originally constructed in 1939, was replaced with a new 25-yard pool with six lanes. A children’s play area with a splash pad was also added and both men’s and women’s locker rooms were renovated in the bathhouse, News reported.
The pool’s surrounding deck was expanded to accommodate more tables and lounge furniture for guests. The adjacent concession stand was renovated and features a full kitchen, News reported.
Additional work included a new halfway house along the ninth hole where players can refresh with food and drink. Glen Oak also renovated and expanded its back patio with an outdoor casual dining venue, bar areas and fire pit. To further enhance guest experience, the club’s entry way was improved with new parking areas, a dedicated bag drop, service drive aisles, motor courts and entry monuments, News reported.
