The city of Andover, Kan., is closing the nine-hole golf course through March to allow many of the greens to be tilled and replanted. Golf course members will receive credit next year for the time they were unable to access the course this year.
A fungal infestation is forcing the city of Andover, Kan., to close its Cedar Pines Municipal Golf Course through March while the problem is remedied, the Wichita (Kan.) Business Journal reported.
The infestation is affecting many of the greens on the nine-hole course, and they need to be tilled and replanted, the Business Journal reported.
The course will be closed long enough to give the new grass time to take root, the Business Journal reported.
Golf course members will receive credit next year for the time they were unable to access the course this year. Cedar Pines opened in 2003, the Business Journal reported.
