Faye Randolph, 46, was fired from her position as golf director on March 17, 2010, after an investigation by the Sevierville Police Department indicated irregularities at the course.
The former director of a municipal golf course in Sevierville, Tenn. was arrested Friday and charged with allegedly stealing nearly $100,000 from the course over more than two years, reports the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Faye Randolph, 46, had been under investigation by authorities since early last year and was indicted earlier this month by a Sevier County grand jury on one count of theft of more than $60,000, two counts of using a computer to alter records, three counts of official misconduct, and one count of destruction and tampering with governmental records.
Randolph is accused of stealing $95,139.63 from the former Eagle’s Landing Golf Club between Jan. 1, 2008, and March 31, 2010, according to information from Sevier County District Attorney General James Dunn.
The Public Building Authority acquired Eagle’s Landing from the city in March 2006 and then changed its name to Sevierville Golf Club late last year. Originally designed to be 18 holes, the golf course is being expanded to 36 holes because some of the original golf holes had to be redesigned, city officials said.
Original plans called for it to be completed by 2008, and although 18 holes are open, the full 36-hole course will not be open until at least later this spring. A clubhouse also being constructed at the course is nearing completion.
Randolph, was booked into the Sevier County Jail last week and posted a $15,000 bond shortly after. She is to appear in court Jan. 31 for arraignment.
