About 5,000 square feet of interior space has been gutted and will be redesigned and reconstructed.
Forest Hills Country Club, Chesterfield, Mo., has started work on a $2.8 million renovation and construction project to overhaul its golf course, swimming pools and dining facilities.
Forest Hills Country Club, which was established as a private country club in Clarkson Valley in December 1964, said it is starting renovations to have the entire project completed in advance of the club’s 50th anniversary in 2014, reports The St. Louis Business Journal.
The clubhouse, which hasn’t be updated since 1992, will be totally rehabbed.
About 5,000 square feet of interior space has been gutted and will be redesigned and reconstructed, including 200 seats of dining in three areas of the club’s dining rooms and bar area. New food and beverage personnel will be added, including a new executive chef and food and beverage manager, the club said.
The Dutch’s Lounge bar will be expanded.
New greens will be installed on the 18-hole championship course, with construction set to begin later this month and completed in May 2012. The golf course will remain open for play throughout the renovation.
The club will close its swimming pools after Labor Day to begin replacing them with a new aquatic center.
