Last month, a newly wed couple from Levin, New Zealand played 18 holes of golf following their wedding ceremony to decide which one would take the other’s surname.
After complaining she didn’t understand why women have to “take the guy’s name,” Adrienne Foley challenged her new husband, Greg Marshall, to a game of golf on their wedding day that would decide which last name they would use going forward.
The Auckland-based Dominion Post reported that “The rub of the green went Mr. Marshall’s way.”
