Hunters Run Country Club in Boynton Beach, Fla. will begin work on its East 18-hole golf course in March 2024 with a planned completion for the 2024-2025 season. The club has contracted with Kipp Schulties Golf Designs. “Our golf courses are one of Hunters Run’s prime assets and preserving the club’s reputation as having 54 of the best private golf holes in the area is important to our board and membership,” says Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Larry Savvides.
Larry Savvides, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Hunters Run Country Club in Boynton Beach, Fla., announced that the membership approved a $9.58 million renovation of the club’s East 18-hole golf course. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2024.
The East Course is one of three at the club.
In making the announcement, Michael Rappaport, Hunters Run Club President, noted that the East Golf Course was last renovated in 2008.
“Take the toll of time and year-round play and combine it with the dramatic rise in golf rounds since the pandemic, and our East Golf Course has served our golfers well,” he said. “We’re excited about renovating the course and giving our members a refreshed playing experience.”
Savvides pointed out, “While our golf course maintenance team has done an incredible job maintaining the course, the renovation will enrich every aspect of our golfers’ experiences while ensuring the course’s playability and aesthetics. Our golf courses are one of Hunters Run’s prime assets and preserving the club’s reputation as having 54 of the best private golf holes in the area is important to our board and membership.”
Hunters Run has contracted with Kipp Schulties Golf Designs, Inc., Ragan Technical Solutions (RTS), and Flynn Engineering to assist in the project. The club has also consulted with the USGA, Buzz Jaskela, Landscape Architects, and Toro. Hunters Run estimates the project is scheduled to be completed for the 2024-2025 season.
The East Golf Course renovation is another of Hunters Run’s “Motions in Progress” campaign steps. Savvides explains, “Our mission statement drives our motives to excel as a successful, forward-thinking, friendly, safe, and secure private residential country club community dedicated to providing exceptional facilities, amenities, and value to our members and guests. And that is exactly what we are doing.”
The East Golf Course renovation follows ongoing facilities’ refurbishments in the clubhouse, a complete renovation of the club’s driving range, and enhancements to the club’s 12 pickleball courts, which are all part of a long-range “Vision in Progress” Master Plan, but it doesn’t stop there. “Motions in Progress is not just about renovating and upgrading the club’s facilities; it includes enhancements in services and leadership,” Savvides adds.
