Charity event will feature self-correcting golf balls, to help players “drive more fairways, speed up play, and make the day more enjoyable.”
The first official Polara Open was scheduled to be held on Sunday, July 31 at the Hollydot Golf Course in Colorado City, Colo., in conjunction with the Fore A Breast Foundation charity golf outing.
Polara Golf, the Carlsbad, Calif., manufacturer of “self-correcting” golf balls, has formed a Polara Foundation through which charity golf outings will be selected throughout the country that the Foundation will support. That support includes donating a supply of Polara’s Ultimate Straight balls; every player in a “Polara Open” is required to play those balls, which the company feels will help golfers of all skill levels drive more fairways, speed up play and make the day more enjoyable.
“The purpose of the Fore a Breast Foundation charity golf outing is to assist men and women in the Colorado City area who are struggling with breast cancer, not to shed light on how bad you hook or slice the golf ball,” said Gary DeBay, CEO of Polara Golf. “Through the Polara Foundation, we’re trying to remove some of the frustration from the game, so everyone can have fun and focus on the real reason they are there—to raise money for a great cause.”
